Most of the politicians are on an excellent salary, very good expense and other benefits, fabulous holidays, a pension if they're not re-elected (not a lot of people know that) and many other less obvious perks.
So, the answer is - NO, the government are not mad. It's the people who repeatedly keep voting them in (or the ones who don't bother voting for real alternative parties) who are mad.
WAKE UP BRITAIN before it's too late. Remember what happened in pre-war Germany.

Yes, they make the Monster Raving Loony party look completely normal by comparison.
Every day, just when you think things can't get any worse, they come up with another lunatic scheme.
I reckon it's time we had either shorter parliamentary terms or else mid-term elections like they do in the States. That way we'd be able to kick the bastards out sooner when they set about wrecking the country.

Is the sky up?
Actually the correct question is: Is the UK government mad?
It's been ongoing since the first prime minister was elected!

Tony Blair should be committed to a mental assylum. He is a text book example of a delusional paranoic with a massive inferiority complex. Constantly seeking personal approval and desparate to have legacy to be remembered by. He is also a pathalogical liar.

if you mean by mad, as dropping all involment with this war in Iraq (still in its deaththrows), then maybe you should re-check the dictionary on the meaning of mad.
being mad or insane is trying the same thing over and over again, and hoping for different results.
