You have to be licensed to carry one (which includes being -shocked- with it before you can have the license so you can know what it does) and most college dorms do not allow weapons of any kind. I think you'd do a lot better with Mace or Pepper Spray. With a stun gun you have to be a lot closer to the person and with pepper spray you can get them before they have a chance to touch you.

Stun guns have many of the legal drawbacks that firearms do....mostly because of liberal lies about the possible harm they can do to the assailant (this is a LIE....stunguns are completely safe). Unfortunately, the lies have trickled down to effect state laws and court precedents.
A much better choice is pepper spray. Firmly documented as safe, VERY few places restrict its use. You would be hard pressed to successfully claim someone hurt you using it. It's also more effective than a stungun, easier to carry and deploy and it has the advantage of range on the attacker.

There should be laws to protect women.The only thing you can use is pepper spray foam with stain.Its better then nothing.
If I could make the laws,I would let you pack a gun to protect yourselves.Blow them away,nothing worse worse then a scumbag predator.

You should check with your local law enforcement. Most stun guns I think you have to get a permit for.
