who says the poor aren't lied to, too? Are you deceived just because you're successful? Does living below the poverty level give you some insight into the truth that affluence doesn't? I'd rather have the luxury. I have a brain that works (most of the time). If I had money, I could do the research and find out if I'm being lied to and then have the assets to do something about it. If American politics has taught me anything in my 37 years, it is cynicism. I don't take anybody, particularly a politician (particularly in an election year), at their word.

Wow good question. I hate being lied to, but living a life of luxury is nice too. Hmmm, i'd pick knowing the truth, because the truth will set me free.

Poverty and know the truth. Luxury doesn't matter if people think you're dumb enough to fall for their lies. Dishonesty is much more damaging than poverty.

except in dictionary, i don't know what luxury means, but it does not mean that i don't tell lies. why should we make a distinction between luxury and lies and between poverty and truth? all the rich are not lie rs as all the poor do not speak truth always.

luxury and lies - the american way
ps - the truth will set you free is rubbish, the truth will set you to alcoholism cause you will know that you are just plain poor

depends on the lie and the truth . i would have to know what the lie was and since i would have to know what the lie was i would know the truth so i suppose i could not live with the lie .
but if someone handed me millions of dollars and told me i was getting this as a prize from some draw i entered when i had not really won that money so long as it was not blood money i would like to have it.

wow, black or white. sadly, this is the world we live in...the rich look down their noses at the poor...but the poor don't know any ultimate truth other than the squalor.....but you are offering me truth with the poverty...if it was a higher truth, I go with poverty
