I am against regifting in principle but, if it's something you are sure another person will love and the gift is new and in pristine condition, I guess it's okay to regift it. What I hate is when someone gives a gift because they don't like it and and they don't care whether the person they are giving it to will either. Goes against the word 'gift' and becomes just another obligation to get out of the way. Your heart and generosity should be in gift giving.

Regift. Only if it was something impersonal in the first place like a gift card.

Regifting is ok! Someone else may have use for it and actually be wanting it - better than letting it set around your house.

Yes and I have, there's nothing wrong with it. Especially if it's a gift that you have no idea what store it came from and can't return it then. I rather give it to someone who will get some use out of it then let it sit around to be eventually thrown out.

Ahh the old re-gift scenario....of course I re-gift...if I don't like the gift I don't like it...instead of collecting dust in my closet, why shouldn't I give it to someone who will use it. Just make sure that you do not give it to the originator, because I once did a re-gift and it ended up around our family circle and back to the initial gift giver

I have re-gifted. I gave it to a friend that I know loves it and she will get use out of it. I would have thrown it away otherwise. I never re-gift within the same circle of friends and I do this with my kids as well. There are certain toys we do not allow and they know it. They get to re-gift it to someone else and they get to choose something of equal value to replace that item. May not be the right thing to do but why not let someone who really will enjoy it get use out of it.
