There have been three Rambo films so far, with a fourth one scheduled for release in October 2008

1) First Blood - A mentally unstable Vietnam war vet begins a 'one man war' with a small town when he is abused by their police force.

2) Rambo - First Blood part 2- Former Green Beret John Rambo is serving time in a federal prison. When the US military hears of American soldiers missing in action from the Vietnam war possibly still being alive and held captive, Colonel Trautman is authorized to send Rambo in to rescue them. For Rambo, this is what he would do best. If only the pencil-pushers would stop getting in his way.

3) Rambo 3 - John Rambo, unwilling to accompany old friend Colonel Trautman behind Soviet lines in Afghanistan, ends up going there on an unofficial rescue mission after Trautman is captured. Bullets and bombs fly in all directions as the indistructable Rambo quickly works his way through a large camp of Soviet soldiers.

4) Rambo 4 - Pearl of the Cobra - The next chapter finds Rambo recruited by a group of Christian human rights missionaries to protect them against pirates, during a humanitarian aid deliver to the persecuted Karen people of Burma. After some of the missionaries are taken prisoner by sadistic Burmese soldiers, Rambo gets a second impossible job: to assemble a team of mercenaries to rescue the surviving relief workers.
