of course india is progressing. who says it is not? and those who think poppulation is our weakness they are completely wrong. poplulation is our greatest asset. you have to understand one thing. before india come under the british rule it used to rule the world in culture, economy, social , political , knowledge, science .. almost everything. but when we came under the colonial rule we missed the industrial revolution. mind u , britian and usa is what it is today because they have a 200 year headstart , plus they conquered countries like india and others, plundered the riches and used it all to fuel their developmenet. now, its only been 60 years since independence and today india is poised to become a super power in all fields in the next 20 years. never underestimate our population. while china is superior in economy , their population is ageing fast and its not democratic. while ours is young population, democratic and stable soceity. what u can do is study hard , decide a career and be a part of this revolution. and dont forget that even the most developed nation's politicians are corrupted too.

How do you define progressing?

For example, India seems to be a leader as to expanding the population.

Yes! You are absolutely right. Political leaders are taking advantage of people foolishness and they are becoming leaders and stealing our country. Bribe is also one of the major reasons for India's backwardness.
