You actually can't lose fat from only one area of your body. Situps and other abdominal exercises will increase the muscles underneath the fat, but will burn fat from all over. You should do basic cardiovascular exercise which will help you lose weight. When you lose fat all over your body, it will come off of your abdomen as well.

Situps work the best. Walking every day even helps. Be sure to drink lots of water, and eat healthily.
