I have been a court clerk for 5 years. I am planning on moving to Vegas and will be applying for jobs doing the same thing. I haven't done a job interview in 5 years and am looking for typical questions and answers that they would be looking for.

What are your strengths and / or weaknesses? Make weaknesses into positives, like - I'm a perfectionist, I have to make sure everything is correct. I don't like mistakes.
Why do you want to work for our company. What do you know about our company?
Why should I hire you?
What was your greatest accomplishment on your last job?
What are your educational goals?

Many interviews are behavioral interviews and they will seek specific situations or tasks, want to know how you handled the situation or task and the result. Be sure to give complete answers. For example, they may ask a question such as, "Tell me about a time you were faced with conflicting priorities and you handled the situation."

I hope this helps you out. Good luck.

If you're planning on moving to Vegas, have you checked into jobs out here? or are you just planning on showing up hoping to find something.

If you're wanting to stay as a clerk, then you need to see if the county government is hiring. If you're not, then you need to post your resume on monster or someplace and see if anyone will bite...but keep in mind, having just moved to Vegas myself....it's hard to find a job here unless you already live here. They say 5000 people move to Vegas every month, but they don't tell you how many people LEAVE Vegas every month either because they can't make it here. No employer here will contact you for a job if you don't already live here. I know...I've experienced it, and I've seen it happen.

most likely they ask you.. why should we hire you? what can you contribute to our company/court? name some of your strenghts? since i work in the food industry and not in the court system im sure they wont ask you.... do you work well in groups? and solo? those are the main question you have to worry about. other then that.. most of the other ones are basic and easy.

good luck
