I tend to just switch on my computer when I use it then I switch it off. I always shut down properly though. However in the long run does switching your computer on for half an hour or less then off 2 times a day damage the computer. Thank you

I have been told both leave in on and shut it off by computer techs. It seems like Chevy v/s Ford.
I shut mine off, and as many as ten times a day. This is the computer I am using now, and it is four years old, also has never had anything replaced, so for me I know the answer on this computer.
The most likely part of the computer to malfunction doing this is the power supply, and I have a very cheap one, as I built this computer from bits and pieces bought from wherever it was cheapest.
Over the past 5 years I have built at least 50 computers and have never replaced a power supply yet, and I don't know if the people I sell them to turn them on or off, but I have done many other repairs to them.
So, I would say, if it works for you, then do it - there are far to many opinions that are just that, and have no bearing to the real world.

In fact, it is better to have your computer most of the time on than to switch it on and off too often, PROVIDED YOU HAVE A GOOD AIR CIRCULATION in your casing, so that the components inside do not suffer from heat!

In fact, the worst thing for your PC, or any other electronic equipement is to have a sudden temperature change. For example, taking your PC from a cool area where it was for some time and bringing it into a relatively hot environment.

In your case I would suggest you to consider alternative methods like switching it to stand-by method.

People want you to think that. But think of it this way you are hurting your computer either way. If you leave it on always it is running and will eventually burn something out. Bye shuting it doen yes you will eventually burn out your power supply but it is cheaper to get a power supply than a new motherboard or new Devices for the computer. It will also save you money on your electric bill. So really it is up to the person what they prefer.

You are better to leave it on, but turning it off is ok. As long as you properly shut windows down and the hard drive stops spinning, then you are ok.

Yes.
Even if turning a computer off once a day shortened its overall life.
