don't go with the flow if you want to wear an earring wear it in any ear with pride, who cares what others thing, people rely on others way to much when it comes to themselves.

Yes it is okay for anyone who wishes to wear an earring to do so.

I pierced my 7 year old nephew's ear and it started a trend in his boy scout troop. LOL

I personally think small hoops looks sexy, but my husband doesn't like them so he doesn't wear an earring.

Do what makes you comfortable and you like and to heck with everyone else.

There are already a number of people who have stated the "stereotypes" so I won't repeat that, but there's no reason whatsoever to NOT get one if you like the look. Any reputable store (Claires, Piercing Pagoda, Wal*Mart, Gold and Silver Exchange) can do a piercing and they only pinch for a second. Normally the piercing is free if you buy the earring.

Make sure that your piercing person is wearing vinyl gloves and uses fresh alcohol swabs for each ear when cleaning. (You have the right to insist on that) Then make sure to follow up with the after-care instructions that you SHOULD receive from the store. If you don't receive after care instructions follow my advice:

1) Clean the new piercing 2 to 3 times a day with ear care antiseptic (available at the store where you get the piercing). Do not use alcohol or peroxide. Peroxide affects the metal alloy of the earring and alcohol can dry the skin too much.

2) Turn the earring one full turn each and every time you clean it.

3) Leave the earring in for 6 weeks. After the initial healing period, you can switch out the earring, but don't leave the hole without any earring for longer than 12 hours for the first six months.

If you have any redness or swelling beyond the first 24 hours, you could be having a metal allergy and you should contact the shop where you had the piercing done.

That depends on who you hang out with and how you feel about that. Obviously you're questioning it by asking. The truth is that this is a trend and if you don't mind having an ear pierced in 10 to 15 years go ahead. I saw a newborn baby boy with earrings...I would like to see him in about 25 years from now and see what does he thinks about his parents... Tattoos used to be cool... Now I now people patching them out with-make up!!! Judge for yourself...

You got it right, without an answer. But since you ask....."No, it's not mandatory you wear rings in nose, ear, lip or your cheek". Nor do you have to wear a tattooed shirt at all times, either. Threw that in, in case you might be wondering.

There are some guys that look hot with a diamond stud in their ear, but there are some that just look gay. If you are thinking about getting your ears pierced, I recommend that you DO NOT get a little hoop one. Those will definately make you look gay.

A lot of straight guys pierce both. That's fine. I wouldn't wear anything more than a d diamond stud or like a small gold hoop.

But I mean, honestly, do what you want.

For whatever it's worth, most girls don't like guys to have any piercings, including his ears. We like to wear the jewelry.

yes it is.
just make sure you put the ear ring in the correct ear.

if you are gay put the ear ring in the right ear.
if you are a stud or a normal guy the left ear.

It is socially acceptable, and usually the left ear.

Sure, if you're a pirate.

Otherwise, you're telling the world that you're a butt pirate.

Argh, matey.

BTW, left ear is for bikers, right ear is for sissies.
