Sunnis identify with an Iraqi modern lifestyle while the Shiites still believe in the end of progress and want to be more like Iran.
The Kurds are VERY modern and want to be more like Turkey, whether they admit it or not...

Overall, the average Iraqi is going to identify with his/her Iranian counterpart. Look at the government! It's predominately Shi'ite, and we know that once Iran gets its hands on things properly, Iraq and Iran will be like a reunited brother and sister.

Shouldn't Iraqis be identifying with... Iraqis?
Nobody asks if I identify with Britain or Germany...
Our purpose over there should be to rebuild a government (even though we destroyed one that functions), not a culture.

90 % of Iranians are Shia...60 % of Iraqis are Shia and the Shia are running the gov't in Iraq...I say it's simple mathematics, wouldn't you.
