I think we are a great country yes but I'm not sure about the greatest country ever. We can never know for sure which country is the greatest unless you or anyone has actually lived in every country in the world. Have you ever lived or at least visited countries such as Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, U.K., France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Russia, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, China, Japan, Australia, etc?? I'd doubt it, so it would be kind of cocky and ignorant of you to say that we're the best but then again I'm not surprised because a lot of people think their country is the best and not just Americans. Just try to keep an open mind of how great other countries can be.

If the USA is such a great country, explain away all these things.

1.For far more of the USA's history than not... the USA had a conviction rate as high as Hitler's Germany, China and North Korea, and a trial lasting just 25 % as long as some over in those hell holes.

2. The USA's population bears the scars of a constitution ill respected.

3. I just got done watching a documentary, that shows living proof of my anti gun argument that is...
"The fastest way to the death penalty in America, is to believe the NRA, unless you're anything but a good ole boy"
And old case about Lena Baker, that still is true today.

4. The USA's CEOs make the most of any CEO in the world... while compared to the rest of the western world, the American blue collar worker receives the amongst the least pay, and by far the least benefits and job security.

(if you're going to argue that the USA is doing better than any other country.... well that's simply not true...
The USA imports a hell of a lot of weaponry for our military, and I have worked in factories here in the USA, where the TOYOTA forklift and trucks is of better quality than the products it was carrying that we just got done making, and the USA has the highest poverty and homeless rate in the western world)

5. I will always get what I need, the modern Internet, and the modern attitude works that way..... But why did I have to go online and damn nearly SHOP for a human being from other westernized countries, just to find love ?

I would have to say no, with all the money and power that the USA have they would prefer to spend there time and money on pursuing there next war, instead of putting there money where the US really needs it most and that is the people living in poverty inside the US alone, there are so many people that don't have a roof over there head, a bed to sleep in, food to eat, water to cleanse themselves, money for an education or even to see a doctor, with all the money the US has at least they could offer free health care. They should be focusing there power on there extremely high crime rate.
I can think of many country's that I would prefer to live in.

This is exactly the type of question that makes Americans look bad. The only ones who will agree with you on this are fellow Americans.

Don't be an idiot. There are many good, clean, safe, well-educated and respected countries in the world: the US doesn't get very high on the list.

Americans certainly seem to think so. Ive never been to the states but the americans Ive met seem to get a bit upset abroad when they find things done differently, like it threatens their world view or something. I used to teach English in Asia and there were all these US teachers who were genuinely upset that there were all these other english speakers in the world who spelled/pronounced words differently to them and failed to show any remorse, like everyone should do things the american way or not at all.

In any case the US will relatively shortly be surpassed econimically and militarily by China so you need to have more going for you than being superpower.

Hitler's German, prewar naturally, was the most efficient. If Hitler didn't go off to war we'd probably be learning all about the great leader Adolf Hitler in schools. For that I'm going to say the best country so far was Germany, The people worked in unison and rebuilt a fallen empire in a very short time.

I think so, but there is plenty of room for improvement. And if we don't challenge ourselves to become better, it won't be long before we lose out to China. And I hope the Chinese people continue to challenge themselves, too. That way we have to work to make this a better country. Gotta love competition. Kinda proves the argument for free market capitalism.

The greatest ever. No question.

We just have a very bad leader right now. A black spot in our history.
