This book has been written to make this fact known to people. Since its first publication, originally in Turkey and then in many other countries, millions of people have read and appreciated the book. In addition to Turkish, it has been printed in English, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Bosnian, Arabic, Albanian, Urdu, Malay and Indonesian. (The text of the book is freely available in all these languages at www.evolutiondeceit.com )
The impact of The Evolution Deceit has been acknowledged by standard-bearers of the opposing view. Harun Yahya was the subject of a New Scientist article called "Burning Darwin". This leading popular Darwinist periodical noted in its 22 April 2000 issue that Harun Yahya "is an international hero" sharing its concern that his books "have spread everywhere in the Islamic world."

Science, the leading periodical of the general scientific community, emphasized the impact and sophistication of Harun Yahya's works. The Science article "Creationism Takes Root Where Europe, Asia Meet", dated 18 May 2001, observed that in Turkey "sophisticated books such as The Evolution Deceit and The Dark Face of Darwinism... have become more influential than textbooks in certain parts of the country". The reporter then goes on to assess Harun Yahya's work, which has initiated "one of the world's strongest anti-evolution movements outside of North America".

Although such evolutionist periodicals note the impact of The Evolution Deceit, they do not offer any scientific replies to its arguments. The reason is,of course, that it is simply not possible. The theory of evolution is in complete deadlock, a fact you will discover as you read the following chapters. The book will help you realise that Darwinism is not a scientific theory but a pseudo-scientific dogma upheld in the name of materialist philosophy, despite counter evidence and outright refutation.
It is our hope that The Evolution Deceit will for a long time continue its contribution towards the refutation of materialist-Darwinist dogma which has been misleading humanity since the 19th century. And it will remind people of the crucial facts of our lives, such as how we came into being and what our duties to our Creator are.

Rubbish. An even more likely explanation is that it is very difficult to offer a scientific reply to a non-scientific work.

(And BTW, just because Science magazine calls something "sophisticated" doesn't mean they think it has any validity at all.)

It is incredibly wrong to assume that anybody who accepts evolution is an athiest. (I am not.)

But anyway ... thanks for the illustration that the antithesis of rationalism is not any particular religion ... but *fundamentalism*. Fundamentalist Christians and fundamentalist Muslims have more in common than they think. But part of that commonality is a steadfast *refusal* to see commonality itself ... fundamentalism is isolationist, absolute. That is why both Christian and and Muslim fundamentalists deny commonality with animals in the form of common ancestry. And that is why they both deny commonality with each other. And that is why we they have waged war on each other for centuries. FAR more blood has been shed in the name of fundamentalism than in the name of atheism.

I am not an atheist, but if 'Evolution Deceit' is an example of the "science" offered by fundamentalism, then give me atheism any day.

OK, here we go.

First off, Science said it was 'influential', 'sophisticated', and pervasive - they never said it was right. And that's because these arguments have been defeated a million times.

chapter 1 - Evolution is a scientific theory. That's all. It's not a political ideology or an excuse to go out and murder millions of people. What people do with their misunderstanding of science is their own fault, not sciences. And it certainly doesn't make science wrong. Look at the atomic bomb - dropping two on Japan was a horrible thing, but it doesn't mean that the bomb couldn't possibly be real. It was, very much so.

chapter 2 - Darwin is not a god. He had a good idea. I'm not going to read in detail, I can assume most of it is probably lies and propaganda, but no matter who he was as a person, it doesn't matter. We just liked the idea.

chapter 3 - Natural selection and mutations have been observed in very small scale evolution. It only takes days. Someone here is very lazy if they can't figure that out.

chapter 4 - The fossil record doesn't refute evolution - it supports it.

chapter 5 - There are species TODAY making the transition from water to land. Go watch them - they live in Madagascar. I think they are called mudskippers.

chapter 6 - As we learn more about extinct species and dig up more fossils, what might have seemed like a simple family tree grows more complex.

chapter 7 - People make mistakes.

chapter 8 - Some people are crooks. All these forgeries were discovered by scientists, none by creationists. What does that tell you?

chapter 9 - Wow, this just keeps going. In the interests of time, and the fact that a later chapter brings up thermodynamics AGAIN, I'll just point you to www.talkorigins.org and you can debunk the rest yourself. It's not hard.

Because, sir, your mind is already made up. Presenting the truth would be a waste of bandwidth.

Evolution is a scientific fact. Ample evidence supports it. It can be observed happening around us as I type. Turkey has the largest percentage of citizens who do not accept this fact of any country in the world. Evolution continues despite the disbelief of the Turks.

The Society and Culture class, below Religion and Spirituality is also the position so that you can get a few heated debate in this area. Many exclusive ideals are expressed there and you can also discover encouragement there, as good as expressions of surprise and disbelief. Because a publication is released in lots of languages and allotted for the duration of the sector does no longer make the published contents of the publication "FACT". God is most of the time too busy to learn it. She has a lovely busy agenda.

Poppycock.

Islam is faith-based. If you need this piffle to bolster your faith in the face of a science with a mountain of evidence that is growing exponentially, then I suggest your faith is quite weak.
