Most cars don't have control valves anymore. The heat is controlled by a temperature blend door in the ducting.

follow the heater (water) hose from the block. At some point it has something on it to control the flow of water. Many are under the hood, some are under the dash, some are in the heater unit under the glove box. (I like to get a manual on cars I own to simplify these problems a little.) You can maybe look at a manual in the library if you need to. Sorry I'm no more help.

usuallu under the dash where you CAN'T get at them...My S10 needs one but i cant afford to have the dash removed....hope it doesnt get cold..
