If you mean in msconfig, you can turn everything off in the startup, except your firewall and antivirus.

There;s a website that describes each of the startup processes. Can't remember the URL. Problem is YOU still have to make the determination as to whether you include or exclude that process.

do control-alt-del and do a google search for the processes that are running. Also remove any programs that start up with the PC that you don't need and do a scan for spyware and adware
