No its not illegal to have sex before a certain age but it is illegal to have sex with minors. It depends on what state you live in but it is illegal for an 18 year old to have sex with a 15 year old. Its called statutory rape and this can have serious consequences.

They are called "Age of Consent Laws". Look 'em up. They are on the books in all 50 states. Even straight kids can be prosecuted for having sex before the age of consent (18 just about everywhere as far as I know). But most times they aren't because of a "Romeo and Juliet" clause tucked away in most of these laws (which are rarely enforced unless a pregnancy occurs). Its a typical double standard. There are gay teenagers serving some pretty serious time for having consensual sex with a same aged peer. As to gay sex generally, bans on it were struck down by the Supreme Court only a few years ago. Walk carefully.

Its not illegal, but you can't legally consent before a certain age. In Canada, it is 16. In the US it is either 16 or 18. I am not too sure.

Most states have different laws, but most will state like you see in the other answers. You must really be careful if considering, as this one act can really be a life changer in more ways that you may care about. Be really careful as there is the possibility of STD's and the possibility of unwanted babies, and many other things. So, please be real careful. If you read the paper or listen to the news, you will see and hear of so many kids getting into so much trouble and pain because they just went into this quagmire without first thinking about and then making sure that this is really necessary to do or can U wait for a few more years and do so when U are married. !! Or at least when you are old enough to handle a baby. !!

I think that this is some random law that is hardly ever enforced. I believe in Virginia you have to be 16 or 18 before you start having sex. It will vary by the different states though.

Yes.

Each state has a different age of consent.

In Nevada, if you are under 16 (even if both people are) it is illegal to have sex. And it is inforced often. (Not as often as most laws. But pretty often.)

3 girls and their boyfriends at my highschool got arrested because of it. All of them were 14-15 but one boy, who was 19.
