I've watched this British TV show a few times now. This is the one where the two British cleaning ladies pay a house call to a completely messy and filty house. I'm wondering how common these places are, I mean I'd have to imagine that the places they show are the absolute worst, but who knows these days?

The dirt is relative to the tolerant acceptance, of the people that live there-in. I saw on the tv show, " The Waltons" the guy that lived in a one room cottage, built over a dirt floor, and goat, chicken, and what all, in with him to keep company. It was strangelly appealing in a rural rustic way, although you needed to keep a wash basin next to the bed to wash the sandy dirt off your feet, to keep it out of the bed sheets. I had a shanty Irish cousin that lived like that all his life, and was one of the best person, you could know. I guess it was his humble humility, plus he was the best steam fitter of his community, which was in and around Brooklyn new york.
