The idea of biscuits is a nice one, especially if on sticks.
As far as the more personal things, to do together. A nice meal, time to talk and simply be together.
A nice time at home is better than some rush with crowds, for my money. I like the idea of a few hours of good conversation and simply being together.
Charles "somewhat easily pleased"

If you live someplace warm then you could go on a picnic.
If you live someplace cold, you could build a fire and make smores.
You could repeat the 1st date you ever went on.
Homemade dinner then out to a fancy place for dessert.
Try a new interesting ethnic restaurant.

Gifts should be small but personal, make a CD, get extra pretty, or a gift certificate for something you both can do (tickets to a game, play or theme park).

Hope you can use one of those ideas!

I really don't like valentine's day, whether im in a relationship or not. It is just a normal day that has been commercialised so companies can make money. I would rather my boyfriend make an effort on a normal day, because he wants to rather than because society says he has to. Why don't you just have a nice home cooked meal, and just enjoy each other's company.

For our first Valentines together my hubby, then boyfriend, picked me up in a limo and took me to the Spaghetti Factory. Then he took me on a carriage ride down by the river. We walked to our fave spot by the river, where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes. The we went to a romantic hotel room, with a hot tub, complete with rose petals, candles, and champagne. Its a night I will never forget. We have been happily married for 4 1/2 years now.

I saw this in a book but you could bake him 12 of his favorite cookies, but put them on some kind of sticks that you can bake in the oven and then make them into like a bundle of flowers. So it would be like the 12 dozen roses thing only it's food.

You could also get him tickets for some concert or event that he'd like to go to, but you normally don't.

I would suggest getting a hotel room with an in suite spa/hot tub but that can get expensive, but it is relaxing.

That's a tough one. First of all my birthday is close to V-Day, and we had only been dating a couple weeks. So I'm sure it was a combo gift. He thinks he gave me a card, a small bouquet of carnations (my favorite), and a small gift that neither of us can remember. I guess that's what we get for getting old!

We still just exchange cards for V-Day. He says that's all he wants. (But I might buy him a plant, he's a green thumb.)

I baked my guy cookies and we watched a movie on our first Valentine's day. We had only been going out a month, so it was pretty tame.
