I do taxes for kids that work for me, they live in kansas, go to college, parents claim them but they all work in missouri make less than $4.000 a year. Do they have to file kansas too, they will file missouri since they have income there, Not sure about Kansas

You say you do taxes - that is scarey.

They have the forms, rules and regulations.

Wherever a person lives as their home, is the proper address to use for tax purposes.
The state is generally where you have a drivers license, receive mail, and call "home".

Consider those Americans who work in IRAQ whether military or civilian - their home is the golden USA , home state.

It depend on if Kansas is taking out state taxes, or is Missouri taking them. I live in DC and worked in Maryland, but I still paid DC state taxes(yes, its not a state, but we pay state taxes) had to file in DC b/c thats where I live. Where you make your money doesn't apply here. Go to the IRS website.
