Hello
I've got a Motorola A1000 which has done me proud, very useful, but its getting a bit elderly. I wouldn't mind getting another PDA phone type wotsit so, does anybody know whats a good 'un and not too overpriced?

T Mobile MDA. Free to $100 with two year contract. Microsoft Windows Mobile 5. Music, SD expansion, wifi, blue tooth, gprs internet, touch screen, PPC. Has Pocket office suite: Power Point, Word, Excel, etc. I had the A925, served me well, but now I love the MDA and would never go back. Both are unlocked. Search ebay for a great deal on MDA or SX66. MDA: 206Mhz, 128MB, SD, bluetooth, wifi, 4 band SIM phone, qwerty horizontal slide out keyboard. You'll love it! But, it's up to you.

First of all if you are new subscriber to say SPRINT, then you can buy a phone cheap there, like the Blackberry. I would got to each phone company's site to research the PDA and the price for each. I got my PPC 6700 from SPRINT for $200. The price was $550 then knocked off $250 for customer loyalty and a 2 year contract, then I got a $100 rebate back. Now that is a good phone for $200. Most PDA are rather expensive though. The Treo 700 would have ran me $400 and the Treo is not twice as good as the PPC 6700 i got.

If you decide on the phone, look at the company you plan to get service from too. One company may have the phone cheaper but in the one year you may pay more for phone service. So in the long run you are not really saving money.

If your contract is over. Figure out what phone you would like. Then talk to the cell phone company and tell them that you are thinking of dropping their service. If they are like Sprint and you do it right you can get that phone cheap and some cheap phone service for signing that 2 year contract which you were probably going to do anyway.
