Take them to a charity shop or go to a car boot sale.

Or the Council will take them away - mine charges £15 per uplift.

Ethically I think it is wrong, almost like looking through someone else's diary but if you are looking for a legal charge then no. If a police officer looked randomly through a phone during a search that wasn't based on you and they got incriminating evidence on you then it could be something that could get that evidence suppressed in court. But your roommate doing it is not legally wrong, especially if she has ever had permission to look at your phone, which is likely. If you feel strongly about it you should talk with her about how it hurt you that she invaded your privacy and that you didn't tell her about your feelings out of respect for her. You have the right to have an opinion but she has the right to say who is in her wedding. Try not to be selfish or childish and start telling people she is married, its not your place. I probably didn't help you one bit but I hope it will help you come to a conclusion to your situation.

Perhaps you could donate his belongings to the Salvation Army, Goodwill, or take them to a second hand store where items are sold on consignment. Maybe you could even donate them to a church for the needy.

You could sell them in a yard sale or on eBay. You could give them to Goodwill or the Salvation Army (get your tax deduction out of it...). You could donate books, etc. to a local library...

Or you could just have yourself a nice big bonfire!

Pawn shop baby!!! That way you've gotten rid of him, you get rid of his belongings faster than on e-bay and you make some extra cash while making yourself feel better. Anything you can't sell, donate.

Put them on ebay.... http://www.ebay.co.uk

might as well make a bit of money out of him OR put them in binliners and dump them on his door step but first sprinkle some bleach on them or cut them in shreds - you'll feel much better :)
Good luck with the rest of your life :)

Plenty of homeless and poor that would love them. Get them to goodwill or salvation army or any shelter like that.
