The hot and cold knobs (e.g. the turn on knobs) need a new washer. Pry off the center piece with a screwdriver, then unscrew the screw you see there. Pull the whole assembly off. The washer is a little circular piece of metal or hard rubber. On some, they're only mabey an eighth of an inch thick. On others they be several inches long... Take that off, and take it to a hardware store. Ask them for a replacement...You'll probably need two; one for each side-hot and cold. Replace the washers, and put the knobs back on...

You would have to take the head of the shower and see exactly where the leak is coming from. It could be where the pipe connects to the faucet, and then you would have to replace the gasket - or see if plumbers glue might help solve your problem . Now if if the pipe that it connects to is cracked that would have to be repaired or replaced, You might need a plumber for this. You can also go to your nearest home depot or lowes and go to the plumbing section.. They normally have a pretty well trained person in that department, who might could help you with the problem ...

hope this helps

Plumber's can be quite expensive

It depends on where it is leaking at. If it is in the wall there is usually a washer, or a threaded fitting requiring teflon tape, or a pipe dope/paste that should be applied. Most likely you mean a drip at the handle. The stem of the assembly should come out. On the assembly there is at the bottom a rubber washer help on by a screw or it has a packing type material around it that keeps it from leaking. I always wire brush the assembly completely and then put some light grease or vasoline on the cork screw like threads, and replace the washer.

If it's a two handled faucet you need to change the washers and/or seats. Not hard to do really, pull the stems and take them to the plumbing supply store. If it's a single handle faucet you need to change the cartridge. Again take it out and go to the supply store. One note however, if the hot and cold are reversed, take the cartridge out again an flip it 180 degrees.

Call a plumber and have him replace the washer in the shower valve..It is more commonly the hot water side that leaks.

depends. if you have to old style turn-the-knob style controls, you can turn the water off, (may have to go outside to the water meter, if that's what you have), take off the knob, and down inside there, you'll have to use pliers to get it out, there will be a washer, or grommet, little round rubber thing, pull that out, go to the hardware store and get a new one, and put it back in. Most of the time that cures it. If that ain't the kind you got, I"m not much help, sorry.

Depends on where it is leaking? You'll have to take it off to find out if you it's a bad washer, so Its just as ez to replace,(but not as cheap) try Home Depot or Lowes they'll hook you up with a washer or repacment.

Most likely it is just a washer that needs to be replaced. If you know someone that knows how to do this job it would be worth baking them a pie or taking them out for lunch so you don't have to pay a plumber to come in.

Rub the leaking section in a well timed fashion with 1/2 of a uncooked Vidalia onion. ascertain that the onion is about medium sized. enable the onion juice dry for a minimum of quarter-hour to seal the leak.
