Because he is passed his prime, an US soccer is the only one that would pay a hasbeen a 1/4 million bucks.
US soccer teams are desperate to make a big showing and draw crowds. This won't work because americans don't view soccer as a real sport, but something for their brats to play.
Soccer will never be able to compete with baseball, football, basketball and nascar in the USA. It even lags behind beach volleyball and hockey.

Beckham. like any other person, is securing his earning potential whilst he can. Football is a fickle business and Beckham still has 4 or 5 years saleability. Real Madrid have not treated him too well, they are notorious for doing this. Beckham sees his earning power lasting until he is 35 or so then he will retire. The North American Soccer scene is not that good so he will be a superstar there. I defy anyone given the opportunity he has to turn it down. Good luck to the lad. Oh and for all the reporters, media people, players and anyone else who criticise him juts ask how much they earned in the last 15 years, compare it to what he has made and ask who has been most successful. Sour grapes, most of it.

Bescause he wasn't playing for the first team anymore. Too much time on the subs bench and NOT because Galaxy is offering to pay him sixty quid a second. Plus I'm sure that his lovely wife Skeletor...I mean Victoria did NOT pressure him to make the move at all.

Well, 250 million bux will do the trick. He was probably very wealthy to begin with but I think he wasnt to join the club over here in the U.S. The greed club of over paid athiletes and celeberties. I wish every one of them would move to L.A., that way then California floats away, we get rid of all of them at once.

Of course the money is a big reason. However, I believe that it is also because he is whipped and his wife wanted to live among famous folks, expensive shops, fancy restaurants, and exclusive clubs in LA.
