ALESSANDRO DEL PIERO!!!
When we say the Italian team people think of Cannavaro, BUffon, Totti and even Materazzi but never Alessandro.
Why is it so difficult for people to understand that he is a great footballer!
Makes me furious. Alessandro Del Piero is the best captain Juventus has ever had and he has scored more than 200 goals and performed well for Italian national team too...But people just doesn't want him to be given any credit.
Plus, he's so hot!!!

Agreed with Mrs.Materazzi ---
Del Piero is getting older and everything being, he is a perhaps a little overrated but at least he still had a good performance in the WC (the great goal against Germany after a beautiful assist from Gilardino comes to mind)
Trez, sadly, also a good player, will probably be more remembered for missing the penalty against the Italians in the Final.
Both are good players.
Excellent question

I'll say Trezeguet is more underrated, well, speaking from 2000 - 2006. But now, I think he's being more recognised for his potential.

Del Piero seems forgotten because he is approaching the winding down of his career. He was rated very highly in his prime and deserved to be. Trez is judged by his missed opportunity at the WC which as we know happens to the best sometimes, so I would go with him.

They both don't get the attention they deserve, but I will have to say Trez. People underestimate him or judge him or make assumptions of him only based on things they have heard, example, missing France's PK. But he is a still a terrific player, and I wish more people would see that. It is the same with Del Piero...He's a great player, but we hear nothing of him.

Trezeguet is an amazing player.
.I personally think he is the most underrated. worldwide.. may be not in juv but overall he is underrated.. he never gets the attention he deserves may be due to the penalty he missed but thats not logical..I think the thing that held him back was his injuries..
overall: he is never underrated among juv fans and some of the french fans ..
Delpiero was underrated but now he is not national and club..due to the world cup ... now he is okay rated..but i think if it wasnt for the world cup he would have remained underrated..
