Call the company and explain your situation, that your girlfriend was ignorant of all the charges that would be incurred. Maybe try to get them to waive some of the long distance/roaming, international or whatever charges. Let them know that you are a student, and that you can't afford that bill. Either they reduce it to something you can afford, and you'll never do it again...or else they just bill you for an unrealistic amount that they will never get.

It depends on the duration of the call(s), but 2500 dollars sounds ridiculous for a normal , 30 minute call. If you talked for 12 hours though, that is another matter.

It can't hurt to try. I had an 1100 dollar phone bill get reduced to 200 dollars once. :-D

I don't know if there is a way to reduce it. I would call the company and talk to them, maybe try to get a payment plan so you don't ruin your credit.

No way to reduce it now that you've talked with your fiancee for so long. But next time, use emails or write letters
