You do not state the browser, not the type of connection, is it dial up or is it DSL or?

First, go to the Windows Update, and download the lastest needed updates for your computer. I worked on a fellows computer that had version 6 in it of ME.

Then GO TO A STORE. not on line. and buy a really good antivirus, such as Norton and install that. You can toy around with a Free Software download called Spybot which gives some relief, but that is only for snoopers.
