I actually don't know, i think it is extremely dull and pointless, but so many of us have this extinct to be nosey and intrude other peoples lives, and so watching a house full of people can nurture this need for intruding and discussing others lives. It's a very judgemental thing, where we have our favourites and loath certain characters, I guess it makes some people feel better about themselves. I don't know, it's a waste of time that could be used on getting on with your own life rather than obsessing over others through a screen

Because it is symptomatic of the sad decline in ambition and pursuit of excellence - modern youth (and I suggest that the audience for BB is either young, or mentally underdeveloped) would quite like fame and fortune, but without work, study and effort. With those last three, and perhaps some reasonable good fortune, it may be possible to become really good at something, then famous for that - not just famous for becoming well known.

Because we are naturally interested in other people and what they are doing/saying. Its a chance to be a fly on the wall of other peoples lives...ok its not their regular life but its as close as we are going to get. With celebrity big brother its a chance to get to know these people better.

I personally like shows like Big Brother because I am interested in human behaviour and personality traits. It's interesting to see how people react in certain situations and within a group. It also makes you realise that everyone has issues in one form or another, so it makes me feel a whole lot more normal!

haha because we dont have anything better to do with our time. thats the point of documentries or reality tv- it takes the attention away from the problems happening in our lives and enjoy watching other people with their problemos lol

like all reality programmes- people dont want to get hooked but as soon as youve watched one episode your hooked. its because your watching people on telly trying to be themselves, trying to compete with eachother. this big brother i havent got hooked to because ive never heard of any and they are mostly old and boring
