You could do your report on managing the environmental resources. There is actually quite a bit of data at this website and would make a very good report.

Managing the environment
An Environmental Management System (EMS) is simply a management tool for identifying and addressing the environmental impacts of an organisation. There are two main EMS in operation. ISO 14001 is accepted internationally while EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) is the European Union version, established to evaluate and improve environmental performance in industry. It has now been adapted for use by local authorities.

There is no legal requirement to achieve EMS certification, but it demonstrates an organisation's commitment to good environmental stewardship.

Here in Redbridge we saw the introduction of an EMS as a useful tool and now use it as part of the Best Value programme. The process has already resulted in a number of key actions being taken including:

Environmental review of our 'direct impacts' including waste management, energy and water use, transport and purchasing
The assessment of sustainability implications of all committee reports
Certification of Payments and Benefits Services to ISO 14001 (1996)
Introduction of EMS into Partnerships
Introduction of an environmental purchasing policy
A Local Agenda 21 Action Plan
Environmental Strategy
We continue to strive towards improving the Council's environmental performance and support internal projects and initiatives that are put in place for that purpose. An internal newsletter is regularly circulated to staff raising environmental awareness. Most recently, an Environment Champions scheme was piloted in 6 service areas with internal campaigns to encourage behaviour change.
