Retail is a good place to start. Try the big box stores first: JCPenny, Macy's, Sears, Wal-Mart (well, you probably shouldn't work there), those sorts of places. If you have any particular skills or interests, you might find other retail places that better suit your tastes: bookstores, novelty shops, specialty shops, anything.

Other than retail and restaurant industry, there aren't too many available jobs for minors without diplomas.

You may also look out for an option to work online to make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details visit

I will publish few more genuine site in couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home based online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site.)

You can usually find a medical office that needs part-time workers for records filing and the like....or just any office work. Try to work in an office of a company you're interested in so you can learn things that will help you in your career. Good Luck!

are you interested in something special? like animals, internet, etc.? why not try to just 'cold call' a company that specializes professionally in what you are interested in and ask if there are any part time opportunities? sometimes you can 'make your own job' give it a try, can't hurt, you won't get anything worse than a 'no'
