She would need the catheter on prescription and all the other things that you need to do it (cleaning fuid etc).
Its a tricky thing to learn but lots of women self catherise at home for medical conditions. She will need to be taught and despite what has been written previously she could do it as long as she isnt arthritic or movement limited in any other way;

Yes, there are many people who do self catheterization. They are one time use catheters that can be used throughout the day.
Your wife can use any type of catheter, she just needs a mirror so she can see where she is going. Also, she needs to be taught how to do it with sterile technique so she doesn't get an infection.

If you're talking urinary catheter then yes and it's really not that hard to do. It's tricky at first but once she's got the knack she'll be able to wip it in and out in no time. People with hypotonic bladders do it frequently. Talk to a continence advisor for help and support (ask GP surgery for a referral).

yes it is. if she has a genuine condition that warrants catheterisation then your gp can prescribe them. there are companies that deliver. She needs to be shown how to do it and if she is fit and active its not that hard. Mirrors make life easier. Just remember to keep everything clean. Catheters are a great source of infection

Yes, probably not too easy for most people to do. A younger person might be able to do it or you could learn to do it for her. Have a nurse or other qualified person show you how.

Yes. The problem is she has to be in a certain position for it to be inserted correctly, and doing it herself will be challenging. You could learn to do it and do it for her.

You can, but it's extremely difficult to try and fit it yourself due to not being able to see what you're doing! also, if you don't insert it correctly, it can hurt like mad.
