I started my period on August 14. It lasted a regular 5 days. During my week of my period I took my ortho evra patch off ( of course).

I ran out of patches and had a doctr appt to pick up more the 1st week of sept. When I went in I told my doctor that I had unprotected sex and wasn't on birth control between the week that I couldnt get to the dctr. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. So before I left I even picked up Plan B and took the pills the same day.

I knew that the Plan B would delay my period by a week. So when I should have gotten it I knew I wasn't and would get it the following week. ell at the end of the following week I still had not gotten my period. I took a pregnanency test and it came back positive.

My dct. said I was impregnanted around the 28th of aug. How could I haev a false preg. test and act. be preg.?

Preg tests aren't 100% especially if you weren't using your first morning urine or you hadn't missed a period yet.

The only 100% pregnancy test is by blood. When you took the first pregnancy test your hormone level may not of been high enough to detect, there fore you would of gotten a false negative. If you took the pregnancy test the first week of Sept. you were not far enough along for any test to pick up the hormones, creating a negative.

If the test was a urine test instea of a blood test, you may have not had enoug hormones in your system to trigger a positive test. Also, it depends on the time of day you took the test. Early morning is the best for more accurate readings because the hormones in your urine are dilluted later on in the day.

well the 1st pregnancy test you just did not have enough of the hormone build up to show a positive pregnancy test. So in other words you tested to early. But you are pregnant.

maybe your hormone levels where very low when you took the first test....and when you took the second it read the hcg levels in your body. Take a blood test to confirm it, but most likely you are...congrats!!
