Ah yes, I remember when that store first put in an appearance at a mall near me. I laughed because for the first time in history, as far as I was concerned, two goth girls would now inevitably show up to a party wearing the same dress. Not that I don't go there for the sale rack, mind you, but the overall quality could be better.
Don't feel that you have to shop at only goth stores though. Some of my best stuff came from Kmart. Kid you not. Especially in winter, they're just as likely to carry velvet and black lace as anyone else. Every once in a while, gothy stuff will sneak into other mall stores, as well. it's much more fun to just look everywhere and find what you love in an unexpected place.
But if you love online shopping like I do- a lovely individual performed a huge public service some twelve years ago, and put up the "dark side of the net". here is a link to the shopping section.

That depends on if you are male or female. If you are female, then check out www.moonmaiden-gothic-clothing.co.uk. They hand make gothic clothing and all their clothing is made to measure. Not to mention they have outstanding customer service. But, they only sell women's clothing. Another shop to check out is www.x-tra-x.de. This is a huge German site with a large variety of gothic/metal/punk clothing for men and women. The website is in German and in English. There are many others that I know of, but these two are definitely my favorite.
I hope that helps!

Hot Topic isn't a "goth" store. Gothis rock is a type of music. I think you mean darker clothes, bondage pants, etc. which are sometimes associated with the goth subculture. In that case, try www.the-black-angel.com
