Since I do it for a living...
A Lot!
It's a challenging time for many pro photographers -- a lot of people that used to only use professionals now think the results from their little digicams are "good enough" and don't go to pros anymore. Then there's WalMart, Target, Sears etc.'s "portrait studios" -- which are simply mass-produced mediocre junk, but again many people think they're "good enough" and they're cheap, so they go there for portraits.
A professional these days has to agressively market themselves, and always show a clear distinction between the high calibre of work they do and the mediocre other stuff. I did some portraits last week of a couple of kids -- the parents had gone to WalMart last year and told me they were "happy" with the results...when they saw my work, the father told me it was worth every penny he paid more than the WalMart cost, as the pictures were that much better. You MUST give that kind of added value these days -- if your work just looks like WalMart's junk, you'll never survive :)

I appreciate it a whole lot...
Being that my father has been a photographer with our paper for more than 50 years...
And I have had a camera since long ago...
And I work for a company that started in photography and now encompasses all kinds of imaging technology...

Looking at it, it is what it is.
Shooting it, it's kind of like playing playstation, the faster you move the more good shots you get.
Developing it, it's a lot of chemistry and a little mechanics.
I have been trained to produce my own pictures including loading the film canisters, shooting, developing, and printing.
I have done some video work, in front and in back of the camera.
It is just a piece of who I am.
Do I appreciate it. It beats not knowing anything about it.

won't be in a position to belive which you're asking this question! there are lots of of issues you are able to desire to make a call from! listed below are purely some innovations: - life of a flower (as pronounced above) - on an known basis recurring (working example; and alarm clock, mug of tea, then a college bag/footwear etc etc...) - 'documenting a adventure' (this could paintings relatively nicely whilst you're going away interior the summertime vacations, you are able to capture; a suitcase being packed, a vehicle/taxi, then a photograph out of the plane window etc etc...) I relatively have purely pronounced afew however the checklist could desire to flow on and on! wish I gave you some innovations, sturdy success with your course:)
