No. Folic acid is water soluble and any excess will be excreeted by the body.
Taking up to 800mcg a day is recommended in some countries, but there isn't any need to take more than this unless you have been advised to by your doctor.
Best to give one of those pills to your partner - he needs folic acid too! I had my hubby on a multivit and extra folic acid before we started trying and I got pregnant very first time of trying!

No - you cannot have too much folic acid. In fact because I had mild spinabifida when I was born, my GP said I should have taken 5 times the normal amount of folic acid when trying for a baby. However I didn't know I was pregnant and luckily she turned out fine. I was advised that if I wanted any more children to take much more than 1 daily dose of folic acid. If you think about it, it's in most of the food you eat every day anyway such as leafy veg, cereal and bread. Carry on.

Luckily,we didn't wait long before my wife became pregnant. Before she did she took 2 folic acid tablets a day, ate nothing but chicken, fish, fruit, veg and garlic, drank loads of water and we ended up with twin girls! One weighing in at 8 pound 7 and the other at 7 pounds. There are no records of any twins in any of our families and we put it down to eating the right and sensible stuff and we stand by that so get down to the market and keep taking the folic acid even during your pregnancy.

unlikely - eggs should not be affected as they are stored safely in your ovaries
the Folic Acid is needed to reduce chances of "neural tube" defects when sperm & egg collide & an embryo develops
i think the best advice is to keep taking Folic Acid, but check the dosage & check with your doctor
