well most of the time when you purchase a plant the tag generally always says a tropical plant-there is a large variety of these plants there is all so succulents and cacti.Then there are annuals that you put out side like asparagus ferns or any ferns for that matter.Then there are like coleus and herbs that can be grown indoors and then back outside during the summer.

Plants that do well in pots and do not require full sunlight in order to thrive. It is also better if they don't grow very fast in terms of height.

I prefer low-maintenance plants like cacti (miniature) myself.

I broke the rules this year. I brought it my begonias and some miniature bearded iris. Also some Siberian iris that I grew up from seed and did not want to risk it not making the winter.
