O.K., I'm not going to lie, I was looking up "naughty" stuff but who hasn't? Also, when I go to search on my computer it shows everything that I've looked up that begins with that letter! I don't want that feature! Say, I want to look up sea monkeys well, everything that begins with sex pops up! I have my name locked with a password but it's possible someone could override it (like my bf) and be a bit shocked and upset. Also, if I have my computer serviced, can they see everything I've looked up? IS THERE ANY WAY JUST TO START FRESH AND ERASE ALL MY HISTORY? I DON"T HAVE ANYTHING REALLY IMPORTANT ON HERE YET. Oh, I'm not good with computers and very blond so explain simply. THANKS. YOU"RE A LIFESAVER!

It depends what history you are talking about. If it is the Google search tool bar than when you start to type in the white section you should see a blue bar at the bottom that says clear history. If you are talking about the actual history button in Internet Explor this is what you need to do. Click on TOOLS then INTERNET OPTIONS then depending on the version of internet explor you are using look for a tab that says history then you will where you can delete HISTORY, COOKIES, TEMP FILES. Do all three. If you have the latest version, hit the tools button on the left hand side and then click on clear history.

Jenni r u using Windows Explorer latest version? If u r go to Tools tab click then go to Internet Options features. You'llsee Browser history click on Delete.

Then another window will come up listing Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, History, Form Data, Passwords. At the bottom it will give u an option to Delete All. Click this.

Then it ask u again Delete Browsing History and it will ask u to check also deleting files, setting, stored by addons... Click Yes!

Plus u need to scan and defragement your computer.

The answer is yes Tech savvy repair guys know where u've been. Plus what ever program ur using... they have hidden logs that they pull from your computer which is marketing research that all these computer programs have in them.

U obviously were curious, there r programs where u can wipe out your programs and reload but u really need to know what your doing or u can mess up your computer. If he finds it, say u wanted to know what is out there. U found it, u saw it, and who cares... even though ur embarassed. Move on don't let this define u or your relationship with him. Now if ur a minor and parents r potentially involved. If ur sure they r going to find it, tell them. U'll still get ur butt chewed, maybe even loose internet access but just maybe ur parents won't. By having a conversation, u show maturity to discuss rather than deceive.

What I gave u in basic maintenance on your computer, laptop... I do almost 2 to 3 times a week in emptying my cache. The scan/defrag maybe once a month which is not often enough.

You must be pretty blond -- Start >> control panel >> Internet options >> clear history. Also switch the history to a more realistic setting (mine is set to 2 days) so my wife doesn't catch all the porn I am looking at. If you really want to not get caught you need to flush the DNS -- but it sounds like deleting the history is what you want.

ps - If you want to delete it when it comes up in the search bar (lets say you type b and big bo*** came up) go to the search bar and clear it (get rid of the letter b) and everything you ever typed in there in the last while will show up... highlight and delete any of those you do not want others to see.

To get rid of the history on your left side is easy. To get rid of it for ever you need to throw away your hard drive. To get rid of your history, click on tools on your top bar and go to internet options. You will then see browsing history, click on delete, you then have a choice of cookies, history, etc... on the bottom you have the option to delete all. Just click which ever one you want and it will do the job! If you have any problems email me.

Probably the easiest way, if you're using internet explorer, is to just download Firefox from www.mozilla.com. If you're using internet explorer 7, you can even uninstall internet explorer from the uninstall programs list in the control panel, (start>settings>control panel>uninstall/install software, or something like that (I can't check; I use Macs)) then download it from Microsoft.com, and everything you've done should be lost. If you're already using Firefox or opera, just uninstall it and redowload and reinstall it. Should do the trick.
