I raced one and got it by 2 cars lengths. Was it luck or my ws6 just that good? It did all the work I just pushed the pedal.

There is a lot of variables here. With similarly equipped cars, driver error could be a major factor. You know what they say about racing...it's not the other car you have to beat, it's the driver.

Also, although your WS6 is pushing 320 hp, it takes 5.7 L to do it. The Mustang GT is 300 hp, but is only a 4.6 L. The Mustang is doing pretty well power wise, considering it gives up over a litre of displacement to your engine, and costs considerably less. Remember...people are buying these cars for 25,000 dollars. How much did your WS6 cost new? 35 grand?

Your WS6 may beat the mustang on the drag strip, but if someone bought a Mustang GT, and stuck the extra 10,000 dollars of mods into it...your WS6 would be in the dust. I'd say the real winner is the Mustang GT owner who gets almost, if not quite as much power as your Trans Am, for a lot less money.

The WS6 is just that good. I've had the pleasure of driving both the new 'Stang GT -5 speed of course- and a 4th gen F-Body for extened periods of time, and hard. The Ford I'm just not that impressed with compared to the Camaro I get to drive.

Although the cars truly are very similar, being off in any direction of any measurement by trivial amounts, the 2005-2007 mustang has been tested bt R&T to be a high 13 second car, and the WS6 being a low 13/ high 12 second. Stock for stock, the older GM will come out on top every time with equal drivers.

well the Fbody LS1 engines were underated to make it appear one step below the corvette. I know the stock LS1 on a Z28 Camaro had the same power as the stock Corvette LS1, about 345 hp. so imagine how much power your WS6 has. the things ran 12s in the 1/4 mile i think. The only difference between the corvette and camaro engines were the single exhaust systems.

You prob raced a automatic, the new ones have 300 horses and are not really a good low end take of car, on a long strech i think the mustang could catch you

The GT is 1 thing but the cobra has better HP than the Gt. Better yet try racing the 07 Mustang Boss its faster than All.

Most likely the trans-am would take it in the long run, short distance would probably be the mustang.
