Why! when i select uk only and not web does the information i recieve have foriegn sites on it like the US?

You are selecting UK because that's where you are, but what appears is all the English language questions. Why each English-speaking country has its own front page and so on probably has to do with the advertising accepted, and possibly some stylistic differences. Take a look at India or Australia.

Look closely at those sites : they are just advertisements for portal sites to sell you stuff
