I am not trying to offend anyone by my question but why do so many muslim men marry american women then divorce them?
This has happened to some people that I know and I want to know why. I don't understand why these guys come to america find an american and then divorce them like its a fad.

I have a bf from egypt and he wants to marry me. I have known him for a year and he has proposed to me 3 times. I love him but I fear he might have other motives
because he is here on a student visa.

You are only 18! you got a whole lot of living to do, why do you want to complex (and confuse) the best time of your life?
If you was older, you would know "why " overseas students get divorce like a fad. (pls. it have nothing to do with being Muslims) Most of overseas student want a Green Card, but there are other reasons too.
You are to young to be thinking about marriage. Have fun with your friends your age group. Go to the movies, the clubs, or what ever young 18 year do. Learn about relationship, and what its takes to live happy ever after for your generation.
You being home schooled, with streak parents, and not having a social life are the cause of your problem.Find an adult that will help you, to go out with kids your age and have fun.

For citizenship more than likely.
If You fear your boyfriend might have other motives then you shouldnt marry him, marrage wont survive on doubts, and unless an American(or any women from any other non muslim country) wants to be treated as less than human as Muslim women are, they should stay away from muslim men, and their culture, thats like trying to mix water with oil. Keep Your freedoms, rights, and in some cases, your life, and lose the Muslim.

Religion and cultural differences.
Many of these muslim man, wanting to marry an american women, because they think american women are hot. they think that they can change the women's religion. Or maybe they are just blindly in love.
American women marries a muslim guy because, he may be rich, he maybe exotic and different from all the man she dated. Or maybe just blindly in love.
You gotta be empathetic to these couples. I mean religion and culture is two powerful things that can rock a marriage. I mean many reason's of the divorce is the women can't accept the religion and cultural values that she is marrying into.
Yes a woman has to convert into a muslim in most marriages but in some cases an orthodox christian can marry a muslim. It sounds like force, but in Islam religion is very important, I mean the woman can always say no, but because of the promises she was given, she gave the religion a try.
Sometime it just does not work out. I mean not in muslim marriages but the marriage itself. People get divorced because the person they knew changed after marriage or refuse to change. You can't really just say muslim men like to marry and divorce american women. There are still some who are still happily married.
So basically, they get a divorce because of conflicts in religion, how to raise their children, the person they married is not the same person, and so many other reasons.

This is not a regular or usual thing and not only Muslims but many other faith people also do that. It is not always for getting citizenship. It is just like any love marriage and any divorce. Has any body done a survay and collected proper data. I Strongly believe every one marries and every one divorces as the life goes. There is no discrimination of religin in this very personal matter.

Thats a good question.....but even a better one is why would american women marry a muslim? This country is so messed up with all the different blood lines being mixed its like being in a blender and what ever comes out is what it is. As far as Muslims go, here is 2 cents that should cover it.........

Let me start by saying you are not fully mature. How can you ask such a question. Do americans marry? and do they divorce? Then why dont you ask why americans divorce? Well i am a muslim and according to my knowledge, Divorce is the last option when it comes to solving marital problems. Why dont the american girls being divorced choose the right man? Divorce is a result of marital problems of which mainly both parties participate. So dont think that it is something within muslims but look at it from this perspective "HUMAN'S NATURE"
