are you in the first or second family and does the parent treat EVERYONE equal as his own??? My father treats the second family so different than the first. In other words, the people who came first don't seem to matter so much anymore. Is it the same for you too?

My parents both remarried and moved away and near their step-families. My mom still loves us like crazy, of course, but she spends a lot more time with her step-kids. Dad, on the other hand, moved over a 1,000 miles away and near on of his step-children and his wife makes sure he either has little contact with us or to bad-mouth us every chance she gets.
My ex and I are both remarried and have step children. Mine are grown and on their own but he has a younger step-son. My youngest is living with them and I gotta say that she treats them equally for the most part but does take her own son's word over my son's. My ex just sort of stands there and lets her take over. So yeah, it's sort of the same for us. But not terribly bad.
