Apple. But I have an IBM compatable because in this area there is no apple stuff for 150 miles. All of the name brands that I can think of use pretty much the same internal parts that you can buy yourself on-line. The only difference is the motherboards, some companies have them custom made to their specs.
Some models of Dell, Compaq, HP, and e-machine use the same brand motherboard.
The only ones I would own are either a custom built, or a compaq business model. (not the cheap ones they sell in wal mart)

apple. no other brand even comes close. While an hp computer may work as well or better than any other computer, its essentially the same machine as all the other brands, except it has hp logos. Apple is always trying to make a computer thats better than its competitors.

It's really not the brand you have to worry about. What it comes with that what you need to care. A good computer that almost have nothing in it, it will be nothing for you soon. Taking a computer classes will help you a lot to know all that.

I think you should build your own to get the best computer. Most branded computers are actually built from other companies components. Do-it-yourself and save a few $$.

I have had Dell, Sony, and Compaq computers. I have had several computer problems and find that Dell has the best service. Other than that, most computers are very similar and are commodities.

I have a Dell. If you want a really powerful computer, than an Alienware is the best. Although, you mostly pay for the name with them.

A Brand is a hype! What is inside is what matters. They are either AMD or Intel. Rest is marketing.
