I wouldn't say that I hate people who turn their backs on their friends because they are deemed too poor for them. I would never forget my roots and how hard it is to pull yourself up. At the same time, you should always try to do your best and work hard to improve yourself. Sometimes people stay in the same rut and do not want to make changes to improve their lives. When a poor person works hard to change their lives, they inevitably surround themselves with different people and a different approacch to their life. You should try to stay in touch with the special people from your past but it doesn't necessarily mean you are turning your backs on them because their poor. You are just on a different level in your life in the way you approach things.

I think you have a good point. But I can tell you this, being a somewhat privileged kid, growing up, I never turned my back on anyone for their financial status. But people had no problem turning their back on me, when forgoing family $, and traditions. She did what?? Wrote me off, like a bad habit! It's not money that make people turn their back, it's ignorance. It's very amusing, how materialistic people are. You'll gladly see me with flip flops and a nap sack making my way to Target, a ghost among the crowd! But when I opt for the finer things, it's funny how many heads I turn. I could right an f----- book. And I just love the people that bluff about there $, I have friends that will snub you, if you aren't wearing a designer label, and driving a gas guzzling Hummer, yet they can't afford Walmart! Ha!!! Love it love it!! By the way I don't begrudge anyone, rich or poor, yes $ makes the world go round! Do I want my kids to be born with a silver spoon, why not, won't stop the grandparents for giving them what I've turned down, but I'll be dam sure they don't take that spoon and shove it up some body's a--!

It seems that all of my friends make tons more than I do. I am a single mother that works and is going to school full time. But none of my friends have turned their back on me. But I guess I do feel left out when the group desides to take a road trip and I don't have the money to go. Or even when they decide to go to the movies and afterward get a bite to eat and do some shopping. I usually get the cheapest thing on the menu and don't buy anything on the little shopping spree. They offer to buy something for me, but I won't let them. If your friends have left you, then they weren't friends in the first place. Time for some new friends, but not everyone out there will want a copy of your financil statement before signing on as your friend.

I don't hate those people, I feel sorry for them. Who knows the joys and friendships they could be missing out on. They may have fame and fortune, or even just fortune, but that doesn't make them better, just not as smart. To stereotype any person, for any reason just shows closed mindedness which only hurts them in the end.

if someone turns their back on you because how much money you do or don't have isn't considered a friend but just a snob. They have more money big deal that doesn't make them a better person at all you don't need a friend like that.

If you envy them, try to become rich. If you hate them, stay poor. Either case, it does not matter. Life goes on. True friends are hard to find, you just have to be true to yourself!

Anyone who would turn their back on a friend, especially a friend in potential need, is not much of a friend!

For much of my life I've been the poor one.
Be kind to those you meet on your way up because you will meet them on your way down.
