I make handbags. Finished, they're about 8 inches by 11 inches. They have a snap close and various lengths of straps. I have not gone to a craft show yet, but I'm thinking of putting $15 on the bags. My bags are not really ornate, but they are pretty and simple. I know it's hard to say having not seen them, but does this sound like a reasonable price? Too high? Too low? What has been your experience?

While it sounds like a reasonable price, think about where you live and to whom you are going to sell these bags. If you live in an urban area, you'll be able to price your items at a higher price than if you live in a rural one. Also, teens will be willing to spend more on an item like your bags, but they have less money.

Other than the fact that they are handmade, what makes your bags unique? Do you allow your customers to choose the material and trim, making them more personal? If so, that personalization allows them to be priced higher than if you alone choose the design. Do you embroider? Remember, to price your bags according to material AND labor.

I'd like to see the bags. If you want, email me a photo of them. Who knows, maybe you've gotten your first online sale.

Good luck!

Depending on the material the are made of, 15-18$ sounds like a reasonable price to me.

I would say that sounds like a reasonable price.

considering this is some kind of art, I would say it is reasonable, considering the size and all. You want to move them, but not 'give' them away, either.

seems fair for a hand-made rather than mass produced...
