I have 40 GB HD with 3 partitions. On C: its around 9.3 GB. But when I select all the files in C: , it is of only 5.6 GB. When clicking on drive icon it shows only 1 GB is free? Why ? Plzz help as I am having a lot of trouble in installing softwares. Thanxx.

i think this a common problem.dont you worry its very simple.go to my computer icon press the right click botton then click on "properties".a window opens after you click.click the "advance" tab botton.and then click "settings" under "performance".again a window will appear.again click on "advance" tab.you will see a "change" botton under vertual memory.left click on that botton.again a new window will appear.click on drive "c:" and select it.then click on "no pagging file", then click on "set" botton.then click "ok" and apply theese setting .these setting will effect on your computer after you reboot your system.thats it......email me if problrm presisst

sounds to me like you have either a corrupted windows or program install or a bad cable. try a reinstall and reformat.
