i've seen this so many times before, with many different cases. one, he could be traumatized, two, he could be having some serious mental problems, three, his friend insulted him and he could be having suicidal thoughts, four, he could've done something so bad that he doesn't want to tell you guys ((look up guilt)), and five, he could be embarresed of something.
whatever the problem , take him to a docter or a psychiatrist, and do it for the sake of your cousin!

Some times kids do the strangest things and he may just be going through a phase that in a few days won't even much be remembered or you all will laugh about. Be nice to him and don't try to make him feel like you think he is being strange that will only increase the behavior because he will be getting attention for it. See if taking him to a park or some place he likes will make things different, get his mind off of it. Then you can try to talk to him and see if there is anything you need to know about? If so then see what he might want you to do to assist him to change it. If it does not stop take him to a neurologist and see if he has some real brain damage of some kind, has he had a hard fall recently or anything like that?

Maybe something happened that caused him mental trauma. It is possible if he was punished by his parents or another child bullied him that he just sort of "snapped" and is in a catatonic state. However there could be something more serious going on, like a problem in the brain. If he continues to behave this way and won't eat or sleep, please tell another adult you can trust and ask them to get him to a doctor right away.

this happens to be a coping mechanism for some people. Like when we are in high school if we are sad we don't talk so for little kids with less experienece with stress something big might hurt him bad. Ask him about it by telling him you know something is up and that you are sad too and that you want to talk and it is better to talk. Something big is bothering him and he doesn't know how to deal with it. Have a blessed and restful sunday.

You might want to take him to the doctor it sounds like he is having a seizure if he isnt answering anyone and he is shaking he may be having a seizure! So you should take him to the doctor to get him checked on, has he ever had seizures before?

Talk to him. It sounds as if something may have happened to make him suddenly withdrawal this way. It may not be something major. It could be something as simple as a friend telling him he was dumb. But at this age, they are very sensitive.
Maybe you could start by telling him you are feeling a little sad and say that someone said something that hurt your feelings.
Good luck.

I cant even venture a guess whats up with your little cousin. But watch him/her carefully making note of any change in behavior. and get him/her to a therapist who specializes in kids this age asap..
For his/her sake don't wait unless of course you know he does it just for the attention getting power it might provoke in his family.

What is wrong with this kid is that he is around adults that don't have the sense to take him to a frigging doctor!!! Why in the heck would you be playing on the Internet when you have a child in your care that is so OBVIOUSLY DISTRESSED?!!!
