The most stable shape of a 3-dimensional object, where the volume-surface area ratio is the highest, is a sphere. This is why water droplets are round too.
Gravity has a limited effect too by drawing mass as close as it can to the center of gravity.
It has nothing to do with the spin of the planets. The Moon has a very slow rotation and it is still a spheroid. The spin will actually make a planet deviate more from a spherical shape causing it to bulge at its equator and flatten at the center of axis.

the general rolling action and spinning around the centre gravitational force like in our case the sun keeps tint peices being sent spinning off into space. the equal spinning means that equal amounts will be sent off
