Is there a way to fix the pull chain on a ceiling fan when it's been broke off inside the opening?

Now the fan is always on and unless we don't want light in the room, we have to leave it that way...

Claudia is correct. The kit is relatively inexpensive.

You have to go to the hardware store and get a new pullchain kit and put it in. It's pretty simple to do.
