You can't just judge a civilization- every one has good points and bad. You can like one more than another, but to say that one is good and one is bad is cultural bigotry. The Aztecs, for example, practiced human sacrifice, but had calendars and advanced methods of book-keeping. They built amaxing temples, in the middle of the jungle. Just like saying America, China, or Egypt is good or bad, so is saying the Romans, the Mayans, or the Celts were.

Pharoanic Egyptians; the Aztecs; the Mayans; the Australian Aborigines.
They were all their own worst enemies and as a result are no longer with us. The height of power is its own demise!
