Absolutely. My husband was a tandem instructor for a number of years. While most people that actually went through with the jump (and not everybody does, once they get to the door of the plane) really did enjoy it, there were those who found it too intense and would never try it again. The adrenaline rush is a big part of these experiences, but not everyone enjoys the rush. I also have a friend that broke his ankle doing his first tandem. He forgot to let the instructor do the landing. He might try it again, but he isn't gung-ho to do so.

I went skydiving 3 years ago, and had mixed opinions on the experience. I have no problems with heights, but was not prepared for the falling sensation. I freaked out because the pressure made me feel like I couldn't breathe...and you can't exactly change your mind after you have already jumped. You are moving at about 120 miles per hour, which is pretty fast. Still, the freefall only lasts about 30 seconds to a minute, and the rest of the experience is great. It's beautiful floating down over the world. The only other thing I didn't like was that when I was floating down my instructor kept talking to me and pointing things out, and I kind of just wanted silence to take it all in.
Hope this helps!
