The bigger it gets, the harder it gets. And the baby will be poking from the inside out!

It probably depends on the starting weight of the woman. I was about 98 pounds, and got to 132, and it was hard, almost like being bloated, severely (lol). But I am sure if the person already has a fatty belly, then its probably a little of both.

Here's my disgusting truth:

I used to be a real fatty, then lost over 100 lbs. I still had alot of extra skin when I got pregnant, so my 7 mos. pregnant belly is hard from right below my bra line to just above my pubic line. Then it's fatty, or rather hanging skin. It's soooo gross. Aren't you glad you asked?

Your tummy gets bigger but you could poke it if you wanted to...would've recommend this as you might get a kick back!! It'll go rock hard towards the end when your experiencing braxton hicks or the real thing.

In the beginning of the pregnancy it is firm but not hard. Toward the end of the pregnancy when the baby has stretched your stomach, which can only stretch so far, the stomach becomes very firm or hard. As the baby gets bigger you become firmer, feeling only baby and no empty space.

Mine was soft, except were the uterus was, there may have been a little hard knot, as the baby grew it became larger. But even now 8.5 months, my belly is huge but only hard where the baby is. She moves the hardness may move as well.

My stomach is SO HARD! Unless your kinda flabby to start with your belly will be pretty hard and only get harder as the baby grows.

It's somewhat hard. More like a water balloon in the areas where you can't directly feel the baby.

Try poking a pregnant woman's stomach, and if you survive, get back to us on that. For that matter, try poking a fat woman in the stomach. Maybe we'll all get together and send flowers to your funeral...........NOT.
